Phore Core Wallet Development Proposal - May 2020 (4,600 PHR)

We are continuing to enhance the Phore core wallet. This includes development, testing, deployment, and user support to fix bugs reported by users, improve functionality of existing features, improve the user experience, add new features, and maintain network stability and security. Examples of current features on our near term core wallet roadmap include:

Testing Complete - Staging for Release

  • Better performance for responding to RPC commands, improving integration with 3rd party services
  • Improved coin selection algorithm to prevent “transaction too large” errors
  • Hierarchical deterministic addressing and mnemonic seed words
  • Bug fix to prevent RPC command errors during node initialization
  • Bug fix for editing masternode entries using Qt wallet
  • Prompt user to unlock wallet during proposal creation workflow
  • Several performance improvements to make wallet faster and use less CPU and memory
  • Add RPC commands for easier integration with Insight servers (Trezor/Phore Marketplace back end) and other 3rd party services
  • Improve HD addressing restore process
  • Proof of stake protocol security improvements
  • Additional wallet performance improvements

Development Complete–Testing Underway

  • Improvements to gitian build process
  • Compatibility with latest versions of OSX
  • Restore feature to be able to double click on proposals to open the description URL
  • Improved handling of HD seeds when using phore daemon
  • Additional scam warning for debug console
  • Leveldb fixes
  • Travis build fixes
  • Update Qt library to 5.9.7
  • Add Tor icon to status bar

Development Underway/Planned

  • Refactoring code to improve quality and ease future development
  • Switch from openssl to secp256k1 for consensus
  • Further staking improvements
