Phore Core Wallet Development Proposal
December 2020 (40,000 PHR)
This proposal covers further enhancement of the Phore Core wallet. This includes development, testing, deployment, operations, marketing and user support to fix bugs reported by users, improve functionality of existing features, improve the user experience, add new features, and maintain stability and security.
The development and testing for the v1.7.0 release are complete–we are working on finalizing and preparing the final build. The v1.7.0 release will be a mandatory release and will include improvements to the staking protocol and OSX compatibility. We have moved some other updates below to the following release which we have finished the initial development for and are beginning to put through QA testing:
- Add RPC commands for easier integration with Insight servers (Trezor/Phore Marketplace back end) and other 3rd party services
- Improvements to gitian build process
- Compatibility with latest versions of OSX
- Foreign language translation updates
- Improved address manager performance
- Add support for RISC-V and include in gitian build process
- Restore feature to be able to double click on proposals to open the description URL
- Masternode RPC updates
- Travis build fixes
- Update Qt library to 5.9.7
- Update leveldb version
- Add Tor icon to status bar
- Refactoring code to improve quality and ease future development
- Switch from openssl to secp256k1 for consensus
Future development priorities include:
- Support for OP_CHECKTIMELOCKVERIFY (BIP65) opcode standard
- New RPC commands including getblockindexstats
- Removal of zero-fee transaction support
- Improvements to HD addressing GUI setup process
- Masternode protocol improvements
- Budget governance improvements
- Improved transaction handling
- Further staking improvements
- Further bug fixes
We are increasing the proportion of funds for Phore Core Wallet development work this month as we are ramping up the pace of updates and enhancements.
